iPhone 16 series launch: New color options, design changes leaked ahead of September event

Date:

Apple is all set to host its highly anticipated “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9, where the tech giant is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 series. As the event draws near, excitement is building around the new features, pricing, and especially the colors of the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup. Rumors suggest that Apple may introduce some notable changes to the color options across the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max models.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus: Fresh Color Palette

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumored to come in a new set of shades, possibly including a white option, which would replace the yellow variant seen in the iPhone 15 lineup. According to leaks, these models may arrive in black, green, pink, blue, and the anticipated white color. These color-infused glass designs are expected to be more vibrant and saturated compared to the lighter, pastel tones of the iPhone 15.

Tech tipster Sonny Dickson recently shared images of iPhone 16 dummy units in these rumored shades, fueling speculation about what’s to come. The black and green models are expected to be deeper in hue, while the pink and blue variants could either retain their pastel quality or shift toward a bolder look.

iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max: ‘Desert Titanium’ Makes a Debut

Moving to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, the most talked-about addition is the rumored “Desert Titanium” shade, which many describe as a bronze or brownish hue. This new variant could replace the blue titanium option from the iPhone 15 Pro series. While some early rumors likened this color to gold or rose gold, recent leaks suggest it will be closer to bronze, offering a distinct look not typically seen in Apple’s color range.

Other expected colors for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max include Natural Titanium, Black Titanium, and White Titanium—continuing the sleek, professional aesthetic that has been a hallmark of Apple’s Pro models. Notably, the Black Titanium version is said to be darker than its iPhone 15 counterpart, giving it a more striking appearance.

Design Tweaks: Same Look, Bigger Changes Inside

In terms of design, the iPhone 16 isn’t expected to deviate drastically from the iPhone 15. However, there are whispers of some practical updates, like the introduction of the Action button to all models, a feature that was previously exclusive to the Pro models in the iPhone 15 lineup. The Action button can be customized to perform various functions, such as launching the camera or toggling Do Not Disturb. There’s also talk of a dedicated camera button on the iPhone 16, which could allow users to focus and capture images more efficiently, similar to the operation of a DSLR camera. This button is expected to be capacitive, much like the Action button.

Camera Layout: A Step Back in Time?

Another notable change might come in the form of a redesigned camera layout for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. According to leaks, the rear cameras could revert to a vertical alignment, reminiscent of the iPhone 12. This shift could be tied to internal hardware changes, possibly related to sensor adjustments.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models are expected to retain the diagonal camera bump design that has been standard in recent years, continuing to distinguish the Pro models from the more budget-friendly versions.

A Glimpse into the Future: iPhone 17 Teasers

While the iPhone 16 is poised to hit the market soon, whispers about the next generation have already begun. Apple is reportedly working on an iPhone 17 Slim for 2025, which could feature a much thinner profile. According to reports, this device may follow the design language of the slim iPad Pro introduced earlier this year, offering a sleeker and more streamlined look than current iPhones.

As Apple prepares to officially unveil the iPhone 16 series at its “It’s Glowtime” event, the buzz around its new colors and subtle design changes continues to grow. While nothing is set in stone until the event, fans can expect a refined, stylish, and possibly more vibrant range of iPhones this year.
