Google has reportedly started rolling out separate Gemini extensions for WhatsApp, Google Home, Messages, Phone and for Spotify. A report by 9to5Google shared that the gradual rollout had started after spotting them on Messages, Phone and WhatsApp.

Google had announced most of these extensions in October with the Spotify extension launched a week ago.

Users have to enable Gemini App Activity for these apps first and then go to their account profile on the top right of the Gemini app and click on Extensions to see which ones are available to them.

On the Messages app, users can write texts, edit and rewrite messages with the Gemini extension. It still is unable to summarise texts or respond to them on behalf of the users. WhatsApp extension helps users write messages and place calls with Gemini while the Phone extension can dial numbers with voice prompts.

Just yesterday, a Gemini extension was also rolled out for the Utilities app which will help users with basic tasks including turning on the flashlight and the Bluetooth, setting and silencing alarms and alerts or taking photos.
